OK that said, catchup time. It has been a hard year, all our plans had to be thrown out the window and almost overnight we had to have a new home built within our barn. Shortly after moving in, I developed a back problem that quickly progressed over the year till I needed a cane, then a walker and finally, in September, needed some urgent surgery to prevent further damage. Didn't relieve much of the pain, but definitely relieved some of the pressure on my spinal cord and gave me back my mobility. I'm not driving yet but can get around on my own with a little less pain.
Yes, in a matter of weeks we remodeled about 1400' in the front of the barn into a home. Basically one large living room/kitchen/western room, and a bedroom. A little more than that but pretty much a one room cottage. Now that I'm feeling better I can see things I would had done differently but overall it's pretty much what we had in mind but still a long way to go. Cement floors with area rugs everyplace - hopefully we can get some basic indoor/outdoor carpeting over the cold concrete floors till we are able to lay wood flooring. Our youngest son flew back for three weeks to help us get as much unpacking and finishing as we can. Finding things I'd forgotten about and not finding things I desperately need.
Will close at this point and promise some picture of the progress next post.
